Barbara Reid studied, trained and worked in the United Kingdom prior to moving and practicing in Canada. Barbara Reid is a highly qualified professional with extensive supporting education and professional experience. Among many academic disciplines she has mastered her specialty is her Education in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalytical Counselling. Specialising in the practice of the Time-limited Solution-based approach.

Academically Ms Reid completed her formal studies in London, United Kingdom where she earned a B.A. Honours Degree, Summa cum Laude, in Design from the American College. She has also gained a Performance Diploma from the Royal College of Music and is a graduate of the Academy of Graphology. Her next endeavour was in earning a Diploma in Advanced Psychodynamic Counselling from Westminster Pastoral Foundation. She then accepted a one-year post-graduate placement at Westminster, where she taught and supervised students in the area of Time-Limited Psychotherapy. During her placement, she collaborated closely with Ms. June Roberts, a pioneer in the area of Time-Limited psychotherapy. Ms. Reid has also studied at the esteemed Institute of Psycho-Analysis, the London Centre for Psychotherapy and the Institute of Group Analysis. She has also had an extensive history in Supervision. Her 15 years of weekly sessions have included 7 years of verbatim supervision.
Ms. Reids Professional History has included over 15 years of counselling experience, working in a wide range of areas, with youth and adults. And has operated a Psychotherapy practice, specializing in a Time-Limiting Solution-based approach, since 1992.
Prior experience was gained in counselling and teaching positions at the Charter Cromwell Hospital (Resident Psychotherapist), Institute of Psychotherapy and Counselling (Co-Chair, Post-Graduate Further Studies), Westminster Pastoral Foundation (Counsellor, Supervisor, Instructor) and Charter Clinic (Counsellor). Ms. Reid was a key member of Counselling team at numerous organizations, including placements at the Monroe Family Centre at the Tavistock Clinic, The Elizabeth Gentle Centre in London, and Sheena's Place in Toronto. Ms. Reid is a Clinical Member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists and affiliated with the Foundation of Psychotherapy and Counselling in the U.K.
